Upon her arrival from the US on Friday, Kris Aquino reiterated her intention to end her marriage to James Yap in an ambush interview with an entertainment talk show that was aired on Saturday.

Kris’ lawyers are preparing to file a petition for a nullity of marriage before the Quezon City courts. This petition, her lawyers described, would “shock” the public.

In the interview, Kris hinted on the possible grounds for the annulment case, saying there were “problems with the technicalities” when they got married on July 10, 2005, indicating that the marriage was void from the beginning.

Despite the upcoming legal process to end their five-year marriage, Kris noted that everything is okay between her and James, whom she says has already accepted the “status” of their relationship.

“Nagkakaintindihan na kami,” Kris told GMA-7’s “Startalk.” “Alam niya at alam ko kung nasaan na kami at this point… Wala nang problema. I sincerely wish him the best and I hope he also wishes me the best.”

Kris also said she is confident James would still “fulfill his obligations” as a father even if their marriage is annulled.

“Wala nang masamang tinapay sa aming dalawa dahil nga may anak kami,” Kris added.

Asked if she still had feelings for James and was open for reconciliation, Kris responded with a direct: “No.”

She also denied rumors about supposed “romantic links” with a prominent political figure and an actor as she quipped about James’ own alleged links to other women.

“Na-tsi-tsismis na nga sa taga-estasyon niyo,” Kris said referring to GMA News talent Grace Lee, who already denied even knowing James.

Despite this, Kris’ elder sisters Pinky Aquino-Abellada and Ballsy Aquino-Cruz said they continue to pray for the couple.

“There’s always ‘yung prayer na yun. Basta ipasa-Diyos na lang natin,” Pinky told “Startalk” in another interview.

On the other hand, Ballsy also said in a separate interview in the show: “Tuloy lang kami nagdarasal… (Pero) hindi naman pwede kaming makialam, Buhay nilang dalawa yon. What we can do is pray. Nasa kanila na yon kung anong gusto nila para sa kanila.”

  2. Hi Imelda,
Yes of course you are right. No use pretending that everything is still alright when all you are doing is just pretending. Your kids will discover that and they will become even more miserable. Thanks for your visit and comments. God bless you all always.
