Nora Aunor reunites with ex-husband Christopher de Leon and son Ian de Leon in TV5 mini-series

Basta ang sa akin, yung makagawa ng, at least, kahit paano, naaalala nila yung mga pelikula na ginawa ko na makabuluhan," says Nora Aunor on being remembered by her fans even after long absence from showbiz.

Nora Aunor reunites with ex-husband Christopher de Leon and son Ian de Leon in TV5 mini-series

NEW GENERATION OF ACTORS.

FANS' LOYALTY THEN AND NOW.

FASHION SPOTLIGHT: Anne Curtis at the Philippine Fashion Ball

FASHION SPOTLIGHT: Anne Curtis at the Philippine Fashion Ball

Talk about being fashionably late.

Showtime host Anne Curtis arrived at the Manila Peninsula Hotel around ten o'clock in the evening last night, August 15, for the first annual Philippine Fashion Ball.

She was late, for a fact, because the program started around nine.

However, her arrival with boyfriend Erwan Heusaff certainly did not go unnoticed.

The 26-year old actress stunned onlookers with her daring Rajo Laurel cutout dress which, on its own, deserves a standing ovation!

It's quite hard to decide who or which—between Anne and her dress—is hotter.

For one, Anne looked gorgeous with her hair tied back in a slick ponytail.

Her face stayed fresh with very little makeup and just a pop of color from her ruby red lips, plus, a pair of black diamond earrings.

She had an aura about her that was simply inviting as she strode like a vamp inside the ballroom.

Her dress, on the other hand, stole much attention.

"Actually, Rajo just made this dress for me. He became my fairy godmother today," the actress told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and a bunch of other reporters eager to take a closer look.

The black gown had a turtle neckline and long sleeves. On an average dress, those would've hidden much of her skin in plain sight.

But the designer chose to use it otherwise as bases to hold up the mesh fabric.

The velvet parts left almost nothing to the imagination as her cleavage, parts of her tummy, the entire sides of her body (from underarm down to her legs), and her backside were all tastefully exposed.

"It's just so perfect kaya buti na lang Rajo was there to give me a dress for tonight," she said with a smile.

Anne also wore a pair of earrings from Jul B. Dizon and toted in one hand a white clutch purse from Chanel which completed her look.

Perhaps our best bet is to say that the hot black gown complemented Anne's natural sultry beauty.

Paris Hilton loses two iPhones before landing in Manila

Paris Hilton loses two iPhones before landing in Manila

Aniya, "Mabuhay Philippines! I just arrived, thousands of fans waiting at the airport when I walked in. I feel so welcomed here! Mahal ko kayo! :)"

LOST PHONE.

"However, we are coordinating with the President's private office kung sakali pong mayroon talagang courtesy call."

Kim Chiu talks about her transformation as a guy for her upcoming primetime series

After shooting scenes in Hong Kong and Macau, My Binondo Girl cast members may shoot more scenes in China, particularly Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Kim Chiu is cast as Jade, a young girl who pretends to be a boy named Yuan (inset) in order to please her father.

Before the press conference of My Binondo Girl took place yesterday, August 11, a brief ritual was conducted to ensure blessings for everyone present.

Near the stage, a table had been set up where five apples, five oranges and crispy pata were arranged around a lit candle.

The smell of incense filled the second floor of Choi Garden in Annapolis St. as incense sticks were lit up and given to members of the press. People were then instructed to slowly turn to face different sides of the room. Afterwards, the incense sticks were placed around the candle.

According to members of production, they did this ritual everyday before they started shooting their scenes in Hong Kong.

According to My Binondo Girl director Malu Sevilla, they went to Hong Kong to shoot the offices of the company owned by Chen Sy (played by Richard Yap). The cast members also went to Macau to shoot key scenes of ABS-CBN's upcoming primetime series.

Business unit head Deo Endrinal told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that they are hoping to shoot more scenes in China, particularly Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

When asked how it was like to shoot in Hong Kong, lead actress Kim Chiu recalls, "Hindi kami masyadong nakapaglibot sa Hong Kong pero maganda dun ang mga tiangge, mura lang ang mga gamit. Nag Macau rin kami, ang ganda doon. First tim ko dun. Na-amaze ako...para siyang mini Las Vegas. Ang ganda!

"Sa Binondo nag-shoot rin kami. Nakakatuwa ang mga tao sa Binondo kasi napanood yata nila ang Gandang Gabi Vice [Vice Ganda's show wherein Kim revealed that she is fond of eating siomai]. May malaki, may maliit, iba-iba."

The cast and crew have been shooting for two and a half months already. My Binondo Girl revolves around a young girl named Jade who grew up with a loving mother Zheny (Ai-Ai delas Alas) and a loving grandmother Amor (Gina Pareño). Despite her tough exterior, she still yearns for the love and approval of her Chinese father, Chen Sy (Richard Yap).

Jade will stop at nothing to win her father's heart, even if it means changing her identity and pretend to be a boy under the guise of Yuan.

Mutya Orquia serves as the young Kim Chiu in this upcoming primetime series.

In real life, Kim's parents separated when she was nine years old. Her mother left their family without an explanation while her father was a businessman who traveled constantly. For this reason, Kim and her siblings grew up mostly under the care of her grandmother and relatives.

Is she able to relate to her character Jade?

Were there lines in the film that struck a chord in her?

ONE OF THE BOYS. Since this is her first time to portray a male character, Kim says that she got a lot of help from Direk Malu and other production staff.

What tips were given to her in order to effectively portray a male character?

Kim even agreed to speak in a low voice to demonstrate how she disguised her female voice. She says that it takes about an hour for her to transform into a guy.

In fact, she admits, "Noong una, kinabahan ako at nahirapan sina Direk Malu kasi tomboy- tomboy yung Jade na role. Astig. Maton. E, medyo mahinhin ako and mahirap lang kami dito.

Kim also recalls how difficult it is to bind her chest to make her appear more masculine.

Pag cut na, tinatanggal na namin," she said.

When asked to name her favorite sequence that she has shot so far, Kim admits, "Yung eksena na si Jade nagtransform into Yuan. Yun yung pinakagusto kong eksena.

While portraying a male character, what did she realize about men?

"Mainit pala mag-suit," she quips.

My Binondo Girl is slated to start airing on ABS-CBN by August 22, 2011.

Charice presents award to Demi Lovato at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards

Demi Lovato (left) received the Acuvue Inspire award from the brand's endorser and fellow teen singer Charice (right). This photo was taken by a fan after the 2011 Teen Choice Awards held on August 7, 2011 in California.

Wearing a brown jacket over a black statement shirt, Charice served as one of the presenters in the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, which took place on the evening of August 7 at the Gibson Ampitheatre, Universal City, California.

This makes Charice the first Filipina to present an award in the history of the TCA, which is now on its 13th year of honoring music, movies, sports, television, and fashion icons as voted on by teens aged 13-19.

Charice told the crowd that night, "Demi Lovato broke through with her role in the TV movie Camp Rock and her own series Sonny with a Chance. And sold out shows across the country and South America."

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, who was with Charice on stage, also pointed out, "Unfortunately, her latest tour was cut short when Demi made the brave decision to seek help for her personal issues, including depression and an eating disorder that she has been dealing with most of her life. She then helped found the Love Is Louder Than the Pressure to Be Perfect campaign in conjunction with The Jed Foundation."

Charice added, "She is such an inspiration to all of us. She also wins a Teen Choice Award this year for Song of the Summer for 'Skyscraper.' The Acuvue Inspire award goes to Demi Lovato."

Just like the other winners of the TCA, Demi received a life-size surfboard as her trophy. Her campaign aims to promote mental health and happiness among teenagers and young adults.

Wearing a yellow dress with a short train and black high heels, Demi said she was so nervous that she could hardly speak. She expressed her gratitude for her fans by saying, "I couldn't have made it through the incredible journey that I went through without your help and your strength that got me through it. You guys are what got me through this last year. Love is louder! I love you guys so much. Thank you!"

After the awards night, Charice posted on her Twitter account: "That was freaking awesome! Demi Lovato is sooo nice. :) Thanks TCA! Now off to Japan. :)"

PEP EXCLUSIVE: Nora Aunor assures the public that her "rebelde" days are over

Ricky Lee, the genius behind Nora Aunor's internationally-acclaimed film Himala, is supposed to write the Superstar's "talambuhay."

The project, at present, is shelved.

PEP EXCLUSIVE: Nora Aunor assures the public that her "rebelde" days are over

This comeback means so much to Nora Aunor.

She herself sees this as a golden opportunity to start anew and be comfortable with the milieu to which she turned her back almost eight years ago.

But, "Wala," she said twice when asked about her expectations.

In an exclusive interview held earlier today, August 2, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and YES! magazine that she wasn't thinking about anything while on board her plane.

Wala akong naramdaman. Walang reaksiyon sa sarili ko," began Ate Guy (her nickname).

But reality sank in the minute they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Gano'n..."

Assurance prevailed over apprehension after finding out that people were still excited to see her.

WHAT TOOK HER SO LONG? The Noranians waited two years before this comeback materialized.

It will be recalled that as early as 2009, reports claimed that she was set to do a digital film with Celso Ad. Castillo as director.

In February 2010, she flew to Japan and underwent a cosmetic/beauty enhancement operation, which was cited as a preparation for her impending return.

Her supposed November 2010 trip back to Manila got postponed twice, until finally, at 3:00 this morning, Nora arrived.

The press conference, she said, was an add-on.
