Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga was chosen by the Miss Universe Organization to sit as one of the judges at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant on September 12 (September 13, Manila time) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In-announce na ng Miss Universe Organization, spearheaded by its president Paula M. Shugart and NBC Universal head Donald J. Trump, ang celebrities and experts na uupo bilang mga judge sa 60th Miss Universe pageant.
Gaganapin ang Miss Universe 2011 sa Credicard Hall sa Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 12. Mapapanood ang pageant in more than 90 countries, including the Philippines, through ABS-CBN.
Kabilang sa mga hurado this year ang Pinay international theater actress and singer na si Lea Salonga.
Kasama ni Lea sa judges' panel sina Helio Castroneves, three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500; Connie Chung, US broadcast legend; Isabeli Fontana, Brazilian supermodel; Vivica Fox, actress and television producer; Adrienne Maloof of Bravo's hit series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; at Amelia Vega, Miss Universe 2003.
Nakilala si Lea Salonga sa buong mundo dahil sa pagganap niya bilang Kim sa hit stage musical na Miss Saigon noong 1989.
She went on to win numerous theater awards (for best actress in a musical) mula sa Lawrence Olivier Award ng West End, London hanggang sa prestigious Tony Awards in Broadway.
Si Lea ang pang-limang Pinoy na napiling maging judge sa Miss Universe.
Ang unang Pinoy na nag-judge sa prestihiyosong beauty pageant na ito ay si Carlos P. Romulo. He was the secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs sa mga administrasyon nina President Elpidio Quirino, President Diosdado Macapagal, at President Ferdinand Marcos.
He sat as judge sa 1974 Miss Universe held here in the Philippines. Ang nanalo that year ay si Amparo Muñoz ng Spain.
Pangalawang Pinoy na naging judge sa Miss Universe ay ang international Filipino designer at founder ng The Natori Company na si Josie Cruz-Natori.
Naging judge siya sa 1989 Miss Universe held in Cancun, Mexico. Angela Visser of Holland won the crown that year.
Ang Pop Diva naman na si Kuh Ledesma ang ikatlong Pinoy na naging judge ng Miss Universe held in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1991. Si Lupita Jones ng bansang Mexico ang siyang nag-uwi ng korona that year.
Ang ika-apat ay ang Chinese-Filipino businessman na si Dr. Emilio T. Yap during the 1994 Miss Universe, na ginanap dito sa Manila, kunsaan nanalo si Sushmita Sen of India.
Si Shamcey Supsup ang representative ng Pilipinas sa taong ito. Mataas ang expectations sa kanya dahil naging 4th runner-up last year ang ating kandidata na si Maria Venus Raj.
Maugong ang balita na isa si Shamcey sa may pinakamataas na boto sa online poll ng Miss Universe 2011.
Ang kandidata kasi na makakuha ng pinakamaraming online votes ay automatic na mapapabilang sa semi-finalists.
Ang magiging host ng Miss Universe 2011 ay sina Andy Cohen of Bravo's Watch What Happens: Live and Natalie Morales of NBC's The Today Show.
Anchor hosts naman sina Jeannie Mai of Style Network's How Do I Look at ang Miss USA 2004 na si Shandi Finnessy.
Ang performers naman ay ang Granmy-nominated singer/songwriter na si Bebel Gilberto at Brazilian native pop singer na si Claudia Leitte.

Wow that is a good news. And Lea is getting prettier and gorgeous as she aged. I think she is more even prettier at her age now than when she was younger. And these shows that when you aged you don't have to look slutty, trying hard to look sexy, young but only dress appropriately and own yourself as it is. Like her!
