Sharon's kids affected by reunion movie with Gabby?

MANILA, Philippines – Megastar Sharon Cuneta has belied rumors that her children with her second husband, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, were affected by her impending reunion project with former husband Gabby Concepcion.

Cuneta told “The Buzz” that she’s still looking for a perfect timing to fully explain the situation to Frankie, Miel, and Miguel, their adopted baby. She added that she doesn’t want them to get shocked.

“[There’s] no problem between me and Kiko. I want to process it very well with Frankie, Miel and Miguel,” she said. “Umpisa pa lang si Frankie, ‘Huh.’ (Laughs).”

Cuneta married Concepcion in 1985 at the height of the popularity of their love team. They have one child, actress KC Concepcion.

She got married for the second time in 1996.

Cuneta also shot down speculations that she is planning to transfer to a new network as she maintained that she has “no reason to leave" ABS-CBN.

“Kapag trato sa’yo, kapamilya ka talaga, you’re very important to them, that means the world to me. I grew up here, I grew more in ABS-CBN,” she said. “As long as I am treated like I’ve been treated in my station, I have no reason to leave.”

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – A mobile food joint offering Filipino food has caught the fancy of casual diners and food critics.

Since food bloggers Marvin Gapultos and Nastassia Johnson started the business seven months ago, the Manila Machine never fails to draw crowds whenever it goes around the city.

The huge orange Manila Machine truck has become the first food truck specializing in Filipino food in LA attracting not only Filipinos, but American diners as well with its wide selection of Filipino food including sisig, silogs, pork belly and pineapple adobo, carabao wings, beef tapa, turon, and ube cupcakes, among others.

The Manila Machine has also earned a spot in the 2010 Top Newcomers in Los Angeles, from bloggers, food writers, and critics from all over LA.

Renowned food critic Jonathan Gold even endorsed The Manila Machine to some big food events in the US while fashion designers Monique Lhuillier and Oliver Tolentino are among the high-profile diners to visit the food truck.

The mobile food joint even has its own music video that diners can listen while waiting for their orders.

However, Marvin stresses that The Manila Machine will always cater to the “cravings of the masses.” He adds that the business started when he and his friends decided to specialize in Filipino food that they miss back in the Philippines.

Aside from pioneering the Filipino food truck business, he hopes to be able to bring the mobile food joint to other cities across the US.

Philippine boy survives three days at sea

MANILA (AFP) - – A 15-year-old Philippine schoolboy who was sent alone to sea by his grandmother to fish survived three days adrift after his boat engine failed, local authorities said Friday.

The hungry, thirsty and exhausted boy, sixth-grader Mark Sanico, washed ashore aboard his tiny dugout in the central city of Danao on Thursday, and is recovering at a local hospital, police officer Cherry Panares told AFP.

"He was very weak. He had had no food or drink for three days. He said he had some boiled ground corn, but it spoiled early so he had nothing to eat," Panares told AFP by telephone.

The big waves meant he could not cast his net out to get food, she added.

Clad only in a shirt and shorts, the boy told police the boat had drifted at least 90 kilometres (56 miles) across the Camotes Sea from his coastal hometown of Villaba on Leyte island without any other mariner noticing his plight.

The boy told police he saw only another fishing boat on Wednesday and no other vessels, but the other fisherman apparently did not see him when he waved for help, Panares said.

She praised the boy's resilience, saying a life spent in poverty had probably ensured his survival.

"He's one tough kid. That's probably what saved him," said Panares, head of the Danao police women and children's section.

The boy told police his mother left him to his grandparents a few months after he was born.

He said his grandmother sent him off to sea early on Monday when he should have been at school because they needed fish to eat.

"They are very poor. The municipal government had to give bus fare to his grandmother so she could come here to pick up her grandson," Panares said.

"He looked a lot better today and is laughing again. I told him jokes so he would not feel down. He just wants to go back home."

BIR to prioritize tax evasion cases against Richard Gomez and Royale Era talent agency

BIR to prioritize tax evasion cases against Richard Gomez and Royale Era talent agency

(CLICK HERE to read related story.)

(CLICK HERE to read related story.)

Mayor Herbert Bautista promotes traffic enforcer who apprehended him for beating the red light

Quezon City Mayor Herbert "Bistek" Bautista has promoted traffic enforcer Sol Botilla, who apprehended him for beating the red light on Tomas Morato, reports Inquirer.net.

At around 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Botilla stopped Bautista, who was not accompanied by security escorts at the time. Botilla said he did not recognize the mayor, whom he thought was a Chinese national. Bautista said in the Inquirer.net report, "He only recognized me when I spoke and acknowledged the (traffic) violation."

According to Inquirer.net, Bautista asked Botilla to see him in his office the following day but the latter did not go, afraid of being punished. The Monday after, during the city hall's flag raising ceremony, Bautista commended Botilla, promoting him to supervisor and rewarding him with P10,000.

Botilla, 47, who has been a traffic enforcer of the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety for 10 years, said he will use the money to pay for his children's tuition.

Dingdong Dantes reveals his life-changing gift to Marian Rivera last Christmas

Dingdong Dantes reveals his life-changing gift to Marian Rivera last Christmas
Slideshow: Showbiz Photos

"Masaya. It was a much needed vacation," lahad niya.

Pero bago nag-New Year ay bumalik na sila ni Marian at dito sa Pilipinas nila sinalubong ang 2011.

"Nag-New Year's eve kami sa bahay ng tito ko. Then, tumuloy kami sa bahay ko. Doon naman kami nag-celebrate.

"Kinabukasan, nagpunta kami sa bahay nila sa Cavite. Normal. Same din ng celebration last year."

"Well, tanungin n'yo siguro si Marian," sabi niya.

In return, she will change a life of a kid.

HIGHLIGHTS OF 2010.

May hula noon na never to endorse anybody, especially in terms of politics. May ganoong hula."

And for me, that's one of the greatest highlights siguro na maituturing ko sa taong 2010.

"Puwede kong sabihin na blockbuster movie, teleserye that ended well. Pero tingin ko, pinaka-highlight ng last year yung I campaigned.

It will last for six years, yung commitment natin for nation-building and onwards na yun. Dapat tuloy-tuloy ang proseso.

"At bago pa magtapos ang taon," patuloy ni Dingdong, "yung pagkakaroon ng recognition in terms of my performance is also one of the highlights of 2010."

Ang tinutukoy niya rito ay ang pagkapanalo niya sa Star Awards for TV at nomination niya sa Asian TV Awards para sa pagganap niya sa Stairway to Heaven.

LOOKING FORWARD. Ngayong Year of the Rabbit, mas marami pa raw aabangan sa kanya ang mga tagasuporta niya.

"Sobrang daming promising na plano sa sarili ko and I hope na magawan ko nang maayos with the help of other people, too."

Isa siya sa napiling Outstanding People of 2010 for entertainment and philantrophy ng People Asia.

Sa TV naman ay mapapanood siya sa romantic-comedy series nila ni Regine Velasquez, ang I ♥ You Pare.

TV5's Willing Willie star Willie Revillame, and his co-host, Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad were spotted at the New Year's Eve Party of Discovery Shores in Boracay around 1:30 a.m. on January 1, 2011, just after the resort's fireworks show ended. They arrived at the resort together with a group that included Chavit Singson, actor John Estrada and girlfriend Priscilla Meirelles and were seen saying hello to actor Richard Gutierrez, who is a guest at the hotel. The group stayed awhile to have drinks.

Reports say that Revillame, 49, and Soledad, 30, along with several other people arrived in Boracay on December 30 aboard Revillame's yacht, the M/Y Wow Cruiser, which is anchored just off the beach next to Singson's yacht.

A PEP.ph report dated December 8 confirmed that Revillame is "courting" Soledad, but that they were "not an item yet" as of that time. The breakup of Soledad and President Noynoy Aquino was said to have been confirmed in early October.
